Danny ‘Joey’ Valle- Boxing Coach

Joey ValleWFC is proud to have Danny “Joey” Valle as our boxing coach. Danny, a Bronx, New York native, comes from a long line of boxing trainers. Both his father and grandfather have either trained directly or helped train multiple world champions.

As an amateur, Joey was undefeated and a golden gloves champion, scoring the fastest knock in the golden gloves at 6 seconds! As a pro, Joey is undefeated as well, with all wins coming by way of knockout. Joey will be helping produce the next crop of fighters here at Westchester Fight Club. When asked about his future goals in the sport of boxing, he replied “I plan on being a champion”.

Michael Chirico- Strength & Conditioning Coach

Mike has been training in the martial arts since the age of 6.  His first passion was TaeKwonDo, which he received his Black Belt in at the age of 13.  In high school Mike found a new passion in fitness and weight lifting.  Training for football and weight training went hand in hand and in his senior year Michael was selected 1st team All-State and awarded the golden-dozen for scholar athletes from the National Football Foundation.

In college Mike continued his training and love for fitness and received his CPT certificate.  Soon lifting weights got stale and he looked to get back into martial arts, thats when he started training MMA and never looked back.  Winning in his first grappler’s quest at the 2008 US National Championship and in 2011 he competed in and won his first MMA fight.  He won the 2015 WKA USA National Muay Thai Championship at 189.2 lbs and he represented Team USA in the 2015 WKA World Tournament.

Mike is certified as a level 1 instructor with Crossfit, he is also a certified MMA strength and conditioning coach under Kevin Kearns.  Coach Kearns has served as the strength and conditioning coach for professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighters including; Alberto Crane, Marcus Davis, Din Thomas, and Kenny Florian.  Mike himself currently works with a handful of Professional Boxers and MMA fighters for their strength and conditioning, helping them reach and time their peak of physical fitness for fights.

Primo Bellarosa – Muay Thai Coach

   Kru Primo comes to Westchester Fight Club to share his love and passion for Muay Thai.  He is a 7 time Muay Thai Champion! With over 50 Muay Thai and Boxing Matches under his belt Kru Primo has amassed a 14-1 professional record as a Thai Fighter, and a 3-0 Record in MMA Competition.

He holds over 7 Thai Boxing and Kickboxing Titles including:

WKA Lightweight North Eastern Champion
IKAS Light Welterweight Interstate Champion
USMTA Super Lightweight Tri-State Champion
USMTA Super Lightweight New York State Champion
USWF Lightweight National Champion
King of the Ring Lightweight Champion
New York City Lightweight Champion.

 

He was a member of The USA Muay Thai Team during the IFMA World Championships in Thailand.  He is a certified Kru with the USMTA and Fairtex under the late Alex Gong and is also the New York State Representative for the United States Muay Thai Association (USMTA).

Primo was the head striking coach at Bombsquad MMA before moving home to Westchester Fight Club.  At bombsquad he trained fighters that have fought on the biggest stages of our sport.  Including the UFC, Bellator, Bo-dog, King of Pancrase, and IVC.

Larry Perna – Strength and Conditioning Coach

As an intellectual meathead, Larry Perna brings a wealth of practical training wisdom backed by a scientific expertise and experience matched by few. This knowledge has aided him in being successful as a D1 football player, a national powerlifting record holder with a 1495 total (505 squat, 365 bench, 625 deadlift), a mixed martial artist, champion submission wrestler, national champion Muay Thai kickboxer, strongman, and coach. Larry is a certified personal trainer and EMT who holds a B.S. in Biology from Iona College. He has also performed hands on training, working in sports medicine and rehabilitation, which he applies to all his training sessions. His education and experience are combined to provide a strong academic foundation for his training principles and coaching techniques. He shares all his core values and indispensable knowledge in every class he teaches ranging from teaching beginners fundamentals, to helping professional athletes make improvements and reach their full potential.

Peter Simone- Children’s and Adult MMA Coach

The children’s program at Westchester Fight Club is taught by Peter Simone. Peter has a Masters Degree in Physical Education from Hofstra University. Using his knowledge of curriculum and early childhood development, the program is focused around progressing children through fundamental aspects of movement and understanding of martial arts application to everyday life. Peter has participated in martial arts for over 15 years. Currently a Brown Belt in Bjj, he was a member of Wanderlei Silva’s, Wand Fight Team in Las Vegas, NV where he competed in professional Mixed Martial Arts.
