Just because our trainers are fighters doesn’t mean you’ll have to fight. The first 15 minutes

Our class begins with high energy music, whatever we are in the mood for that day, Rock, EDM, or some 90’s pop. We have to get the vibe and energy level up to start. Then we will do some light stretching and either jog some laps around the gym or jump rope. We sweat and elevate your heart rate in order to get the most out of your workout and help avoid injury.

Gloves on

Its time to punch stuff! We glove up and get ready to work. Our bag area holds thirty bags, this isn’t a taebo class, you want to feel your fist strike something when you throw a blow. Hitting things is a great stress reliever. There’s nothing better then winding up and hitting a bag as hard as you can and turning life’s problems on the back burner for the hour of class. We aren’t just clobbering the bag aimlessly, the teacher will take you through different combinations using punches, knees, and kicks. You will most likely seem a bit uncoordinated and off base in the first session, no matter what your fitness level. Since the demanding combos will be different for your muscles, not just your brain. Though the rounds usually are comprised of relatively basic combos, when all is said and done, it is a routine that gets easier with practice. Plan to give yourself 3 or 4 sessions before you feel like you know the movements. All workouts combine the same general techniques in a different order or portion of the combo.

Partner Up
Now we do buddy drills. Its not to make you square off with your parnter, now you’ll mitts for each other. Now you and your workout buddy will appear to be a trainer and their boxer, and you will get to switch and play both roles. You might feel a little like a spazz at first but don’t worry, it only takes a handful of classes to get your moves down, both for smacking thai pads and for being a good partner and holding them. After your very first or second workout it will be a breeze .

6 Pack Secrets

Time for abdominals, even though without realizing it you have been working out your abs the whole entire class, twisting your form on punching and kicking. Even so, a full kickboxing workout should include toning up the stomache and lower back muscles through exercise as leg raises, siccors, and side planks. All power comes from your core so these exercises will help you out in future workouts.

At the end we will have each student pick up a set of dumbbells and do shoulder, arms, and lower body movements. This is a great way to build up some muscle while pushing your body to burn some extra calories. Adding weight lifting into the class is what is going to make all the difference when it comes to getting tight curves. Boxing will help define your arms but after an a couple of minutes on the boxing bag grabbing a pair of dumbbells and lifting with the class will help you achieve the sculpted and toned arms you’re looking for.
