A fresh exercise routine will keep your body guessing and adapting, so you might be sore in muscles you never felt before. Get ripped and in the best shape of your life. Those two results are what everyone would like from their workouts. You’ll exercise like a fighter without the fear of getting hit because our Women’s Only Cardio Kickboxing Classes are non contact. So rather than fighting with other students, the only thing you will be hitting is our heavy bags or pads. Lets break down our 1 hour class at WFC.

Warm Up Routine

Stretching for 5 mins and right into jumping rope. Jump along to high energy music for 3 three minute rounds with some calisthenics in-between rounds. By opening with fifteen minutes of stretching and warm-up calisthenics you will get more out of your muscles for the next 45 minutes of class.

Working on the Boxing Bags

Right now we strap up our gloves and start hitting stuff. At Westchester Cardio Kickboxing we have a bag area with 30 boxing bags, so everyone in class can have their own. Kickboxing is the best stress reliever. There’s nothing more relaxing then winding up and punching a punching bag as hard as you can and putting life’s issues on mute for the sixty minutes of class. The instructor will show you a combo that you will practice for the entire round and attempt to perfect before you get too tired. Then between the round you’ll catch a quick breather, just enough time to show you the next round’s combo. After a class or 2 you’ll begin to appear like you know how to kick some @ ss. The more you train the better you will get, a lot of new clients think a few of our women in cardio kickboxing classes are fighters, thats how good their striking has gotten.

Pad work
When we are done on the bags we switch it up and have you pair up with another student in class. Now we do partner exercises with one student holding punching pads while the other is pounding away on them and bobbing and weaving in between. We divide the class into new students and more advanced students so the new girls have easier more basic combos while the more experienced kick boxers get longer more intricate combinations. In your very first workout you’ll realize that holding pads isn’t a break. Its pretty much just as tough as hitting them.

Abdominals

The core of your body, that includes the abdominals and lower back muscles, will get an unintentional workout just by performing the boxing and kickboxing movements. That being said, a complete kickboxing workout should include working the core and back through such moves as leg raises, sit ups, and side planks. Developing the core will help your techniques get better, build your power and conditioning, and it’ll start working on your six pack abs.

Cool off
Good job, you made it through your first class. Props for pushing it and making it through. a full class of kickboxing burns more calories then lifting weights, jogging on a fitness treadmill, or riding a bike.
