Free Kickboxing Classes in Mount Pleasant

A fresh workout routine will keep your body guessing and adapting, so you might be sore in muscles you never felt before. Kickboxing will switch up your workout and result in body toning and an increasing in cardio endurance. What more could you want from your workouts? Our classes are all non contact so you can practice exactly like a fighter without ever having to worry that folks in your office will think you’re beaten at home. Get Ready to Work

We blast some music on the speakers and then start our warmup. We need to get the state of mind and energy level up to start. Which ever the instructor goes with that day much like the music, we will warm up with some stretching, jogging, or jump rope. We perspire and elevate your heart rate to get the most out of your body and help prevent injury.

Time to De-stress

Now its time to hit stuff! We glove up and get ready to go. Our bag area holds 30 bags, this isn’t a taebo class, you need to feel your fist hit something when you throw a blow. Hitting things is a great stress reliever. There’s nothing better then winding up and smashing a boxing bag as hard as you can and placing life’s drama on mute for the sixty minutes of class. The teacher will give you a combination that you will do for the entire round and attempt to get it right before you get out of breathe. Then after the round you’ll catch a quick breather, just enough time to teach the next round’s combination. After a couple of classes you will begin to look like you know what you are doing. You will probably feel a little uncoordinated and off balance in the first session, no matter what your fitness level. Considering that the demanding combos will be different for your body, not just your brain. Though the routines usually are made up of basic combos, when all is said and done, it is a technique that gets better with practice. Plan to give yourself 3 or 4 sessions before you feel like you know the techniques. All routines blend the same standard techniques in a different order or part of the combo.

Partner Up
At this point we have the class partner up. Its not to make you square up with your parnter, now will hold mitts for each other. Now you and your workout buddy will appear to be a trainer and their fighter, and you will get to swap and play both sides. You might feel a little like a spazz at first but don’t worry, it takes a few workouts to get your moves down, both for hitting pads and for being a good gym buddy and holding them. At your next or third workout it will be a breeze for you.

Abdominals

The whole body motion of throwing a punch or kick already gives you an amazing ab and core workout. In our classes we still make time to isolate our core and do some ab movements. To get you ready for bikini season we’ll do all different abdominal training to help you get back in that swimsuit.

Good job, you made it through your first class. Some light stretching and some words of encouragement from your coaches for making it through your first of many classes here at WFC. an hour of kickboxing burns more calories then lifting weights, jogging on a treadmill machine , or riding a bike.
