Muay Thai

With origins in Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos, Muay Thai is a battle field martial art that has been adapted into a ring sport.

Muay Thai is often referred to as “the art of eight limbs.” using: punches, elbows, knees and kicks. However, Muay Thai’s secret weapon lies in its system of extremely intense physical conditioning.

At WFC we have a competitive Muay Thai team, but you will never be under pressure to compete. There are many reasons to take and train Muay Thai other than competition: An incredible full body workout that you cannot duplicate doing anything else, the practical form of self defense, and the extra drive and push you will get from working out with a team.

Beginnner Muay Thai: In this class you will be going over offensive technique using thai pads with a partner.  Our instructor will demonstrate and work with you as you learn to properly punch, kick, and throw knees.  It’s a great cardio workout as you learn to hit and hold pads.

Muay Thai Technique: This class covers offensive and defensive techniques.  Our instructor will take you through choreographed combinations where you will learn to not only throw punches, knees, and kicks, but also defend and counter back off your partner’s  combinations.  We’ll finish class with some light drilling to use what you’ve learned in live situation.

Intermediate Muay Thai: Very similar in format to our technique class with more advanced techniques covered and more time spent drilling/sparring.
